Arts Council announces 2021 Arts in Health and Youth Arts Project grant awardees

The N.H. State Council on the Arts has announced that $118,955 has been awarded to cultural organizations in New Hampshire through its Arts in Health and Youth Arts Project grant programs.

Arts in Health project grants support arts activities that occur in healthcare-based facilities, social service agencies, rehabilitation and recovery centers, and correctional facilities; the grants are focused on meeting the needs of underserved populations, including the elderly, people with disabilities, people in recovery and people with behavioral health or other acute or chronic health diagnoses.

Organizations receiving 2021 Arts in Health grants are:

  • Building Community in New Hampshire, Manchester
  • Connections Peer Support Center, Portsmouth
  • Currier Museum of Art, Manchester
  • Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Lebanon
  • Dover Police Charities
  • Granite VNA, Concord
  • Mount Washington Valley Adult Day Center, Center Conway
  • Nashua Community Music School
  • New Hampshire Theatre Project, Portsmouth
  • Racial Unity Team, Stratham
  • Victory Women of Vision, Manchester

Youth Arts project grants provide young people with high-quality educational opportunities in the arts outside of their school experience, with an overall goal of providing opportunities to develop creative problem solving skills and positive forms of personal expression, and to become more engaged in their communities through the arts.

  • Arts in Reach: Encouraging Growth through the Arts
  • Arts Rochester, Inc.
  • The Fells, Newbury
  • Global Awareness Local Action (GALA), Wolfeboro
  • The Grapevine Family and Community Resource Center, Antrim
  • Hopkinton School District/SAU66, Contoocook
  • Monadnock Arts in Education, Keene
  • United Way of Greater Nashua
  • Webster School Elementary School, Manchester
  • West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts
